Brazil Daterra Masterpieces Francisca - Coffee Beans
brown sugar, raspberry, peach
Daterra sets the benchmark for sustainable coffee farming and over its 216 small plantations in the Cerrado region they have the perfect growing conditions for speciality coffee. Each year the Cuppers search the vast potential of Daterra for unique small lots of coffee, Masterpieces.
This very small farm is a lab, where they test new ways of producing coffee. The lab is rich with new and unusual varietals, processing methods, drying techniques and limitless experiments. Each coffee has an unique cup profile and scores 88+, is fully traceable, planted and grown with history and can never be replicated.
Francisca Masterpiece coffee is of the varietal Laurina originally from the Island of Reunion. The cherries are left on the trees just a little longer than the ripest stage and then processed as a natural coffee, patio dried for 2 days. The dry grounds has fragrances of white chocolate, stone fruit - white peach, sweet tangerine and flowers, enhanced in the aroma.
The cup features yellow fruits, emphasising peach and orange, with the delicacy of white tea and honey, combined with citrus acidity. As the temperature cools off, expect flower notes, ripe tangerine and touches of raspberry. The long body leaves a sweet taste on the mouth, full of brown sugar and honey.
