Brazil Ipanema Fazenda Conquista - Coffee Beans

Medium Roast

Brazil Ipanema Fazenda Conquista is a delightfully sweet and fruity coffee with a delicate cherry and mild blackcurrant acidity.  It is a medium bodied coffee with notes of hazelnut and nutmeg. There is a medium mouthfeel with flavours of caramel and dark chocolate to finish.  The coffee is a 'pulped natural', a process which accentuates the fruity flavours by removing the outer skin from the coffee cherry and leaving the fruit (pulp) on the coffee bean to ferment slightly. It is washed and dried at later stage.

The Ipanema estate, one of the largest plantations in Brazil, has been producing coffee since 1969. It is a well run and efficient farm using the latest agronomic technology. At an altitude of around 1350m in the Minas Gerais area, they use their 50+ years of planting experience to focus on high quality and traceability of their speciality coffee. As the largest employer in the area, the workers are given housing, transport, food staples and a medical plan.  The farm is UTZ and Rainforest Alliance certified.
