Coffee of the Month - Burundi Kivubo Sanzu - Coffee Beans

Light - Medium Roast

cocoa, berry, caramel popcorn

Located in the Matambu area of Bujumbura province of Burundi, Kivubo is the washing station that serves around 3,000 farmers and smallholders who grow their coffee around the slopes of the Sanzu mountain.  The bourbon coffee beans are wet processed and hand sorted for quality.  The coffee has an aroma of unrefined sugar and toffee caramel popcorn.  It has a bittersweet flavour of dark cocoa and toasted marshmallow which develops into dark fruits and chocolate, then berries and grapes as it cools.  It is perfectly balanced and makes an excellent single origin espresso.
