First Flush Darjeeling Gopaldhara FTGFOP1- FF - Loose Tea
Gopaldhara, in the Mirik valley, is the highest tea plantation in Darjeeling at an elevation of between 1700 and 2200 meters. Due to this high altitude the tea is harvested 4-5 weeks later than is usual for Darjeeling teas. The colder temperature also affects the flavour with this first flush having a more delicate aroma and taste.
The leaves are tightly rolled with silvery buds and produce a slightly astringent copper coloured liquor. It has a flowery bouquet with notes of citrus, almond and vanilla.
Use 2-3g of tea for 150ml of water at 85-90c for a 3 minute infusion
