This coffee is a delightful combination of fruity papaya notes, with a rich caramel flavour and a full buttery bodied mouthfeel.

Muxbal meaning 'place surrounded by clouds' is a coffee farm on the border of Guatemala.  The unique coffee plantation is on the steep slopes of the active volcano Tacana.  The farm was purchased in 1959 by Don Enrique and is now run by his daughter Maeggi and her son Jorge Gallardo.  The coffee grown there has a pleasingly complex flavour due to the high altitude of 1600 masl, the volcanic soil it is grown on and the meticulous care and attention given to the coffee crop.

The farm is Rainforest Alliance certified and has an enlightened approach to environmental sustainability, social care and producing high quality coffee beans.  The housing provided for staff is clean and comfortable, it has a canteen which serves 3 nutritious meals daily and a well equipped school for the families of farm workers.  The plantation also has a nature reserve which has both a gorge and a jungle.
