Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Mugaga - Coffee Beans

Medium Roast

blackberry, blueberry, almond

This heirloom Ethiopian coffee is grown at 1,800-2,100 masl in the Oromia region of Yirgacheffe and is processed at the Hadeed Washing Station in Addis Ababa.  It is a washed coffee so the flavour is more rounded than the yirgacheffe naturals we've had in  recently.  There are delicate notes of ripe peach and apricot stone fruits paired with jasmine tea and bittersweet cocoa nibs with a sweet vanilla-like finish.

The Hadeed Washing Station floats the coffee cherries twice to remove any defects, then the cherries are machine pulped before washing. Washed coffees are left to dry in the sun on raised beds for about 3 days. This washing process results in a clean cup with the bold flavours we associate with Yirgacheffe coffee. Coffees from Yirgacheffe are renowned for their exceptional quality and unique flavour profiles. Known for bright acidity, floral notes, and vibrant fruitiness, Yirgacheffe coffees are celebrated among coffee enthusiasts for their distinctive and complex taste.
